Exciting progress is being made on Gaia’s part of the procuRE project! The renovation package is all wrapped up, with suppliers on board and purchase orders sent. Equipment for the demonstration is arriving on-site, and “Boa Energia” is taking charge of installing the photovoltaic (PV) panels and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Logistics for delivering and hoisting this equipment to the rooftop have been smooth, thanks to a well-developed plan submitted to the Municipality.
The solar panel installation is finished. Meanwhile, deployment of the BESS will kick off in a few weeks. On the heating front, the heat pump has arrived, and pipe installation is set to begin next week. “InWatt” will be handling both the heat pump and the Building Management System (BMS) equipment, including cabling and the new area for the PV inverters. BMS integration with the new systems is performed by “TRANE”.
As we move forward, the next big steps involve deploying the BMS and the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. This will be followed by a commissioning phase, where everything is configured and tested to ensure optimal energy performance.
Energaia is also ensuring all the necessary paperwork is in order by developing and submitting the mandatory installation and connection permits to the Municipality. To prepare the school community for the upcoming changes, a presentation has already been delivered to the staff, and informative materials are being created for parents.
Stay tuned for further updates as Gaia continues to drive sustainability in the procuRE project!
