The application made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) to the European Union (EU for Energy Transformation): Contract of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Turkey Project within the scope of the “EUforEnergy” programme in May 2021 was concluded positively a short time ago. Project activities will last for four years in seven countries: Turkey and the Western Balkan countries, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia. With the project, the EU will provide consultancy services to IMM on the development of the “Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan” (SECAP), provide technical and capacity support, and provide 3 million Euro fund support.
